This section explains how to create and configure a Qumulo cluster on Cisco UCS servers.
Prerequisites
Before creating a cluster, ensure that:
- All nodes are racked and cabled according to Cisco specifications
- Out-of-band management (CIMC) is configured on each node
- Network switches are configured for your environment
- You have the Qumulo Core installer image
Step 1: Boot from Qumulo Core Installer
- Connect to each node’s CIMC interface.
- Launch the KVM console.
- Boot from the Qumulo Core USB installer or virtual media.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to install Qumulo Core on each node.
For instructions on creating a USB installer, see Creating a Qumulo Core USB Drive Installer.
Step 2: Create the Cluster
After installing Qumulo Core on all nodes:
-
Note the IP address displayed on each node’s console after installation.
-
Open a web browser and navigate to the IP address of any node.
-
Follow the cluster creation wizard to create the cluster.
Step 3: Configure Cluster Settings
After the cluster is created:
-
Log in to the Qumulo Web UI.
-
Configure the following settings as needed:
- DNS servers
- NTP servers
- SMB and NFS exports
- Active Directory integration
- LDAP configuration
For detailed configuration instructions, see the Qumulo On-Premises Administrator Guide.
