This section provides drive bay mapping information for HPE Alletra and Edge Accelerator platforms running Qumulo Core.
This section provides drive bay mapping and drive replacement information for HPE Alletra and Edge Accelerator platforms running Qumulo Core. All drives in Qumulo clusters are hot-swappable.
Drive Hot-Swap Support
Qumulo Core supports hot-swapping drives without taking the node offline. When replacing a drive:
- Identify the failed drive using the Qumulo Web UI or CLI.
- Locate the physical drive using the drive bay mapping in the HPE documentation.
- Remove the failed drive.
- Insert the replacement drive.
- Qumulo Core automatically detects and incorporates the new drive.
For drive replacement procedures, always verify cluster protection status before proceeding. See [Replacing Hardware Components](/hardware-guide/hpe/hpe-platforms/replacing-hardware-components.html).

Identifying Failed Drives
Using the Qumulo Web UI
- Log in to the Qumulo Web UI.
- Navigate to Cluster > Cluster Overview.
- Click on the affected node.
- View the drive status to identify the failed drive slot.
Using the qq CLI
qq cluster_slots_status
This command displays the status of all drive slots across the cluster.
Before replacing a drive, verify the serial number of the failed drive matches the serial number reported in the Qumulo Web UI or CLI output. This ensures you remove the correct drive.
