Panel LEDs

LED Overview

Cisco UCS C-Series servers include LED indicators for:

• Power status - Indicates server power state
• System health - Indicates overall server health and fault conditions
• Drive activity and status - Indicates drive operations and failures
• Network link and activity - Indicates network connectivity
• Locator - Helps identify a specific server in a rack

Using LEDs for Troubleshooting

When troubleshooting hardware issues:

1. Check the System Health LED first for an overall status.
2. If amber, check CIMC for detailed fault information.
3. For drive issues, locate the specific drive bay using the Drive Status LEDs.
4. Use the Locator LED to identify the physical server in a rack.
5. For power issues, check the Power Supply LEDs on the rear panel.
